On January 8–9, 2026, in accordance with the UMO Work Plan, pedagogical readings on the topic of "Digitalization and Competency-Based Training of Media Industry Specialists" were held at the College of Print Media Technologies. Participants exchanged modern methods, techniques, and educational technologies used in the education and training of media industry specialists. Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of education, the development of professional competencies, and the introduction of innovative approaches into the educational process. Presentations were given by teachers of general and specialized subjects, as well as vocational training instructors from colleges in Almaty and Karaganda. A report on "Methodology for Teaching Computer Graphics to Children with Special Education Needs" was of particular interest. It was presented by D.V. Tsai, Director (1st Category Manager), and E.A. Sverdlova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs (1st Category Deputy Director), of the Karaganda College of Digital Technologies and Design. A total of 73 teachers participated in the pedagogical readings. Thirty-one papers were presented, with 43 speakers participating. Participants included six state colleges from the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty, Kostanay, and Karaganda) and two private colleges from Almaty. The pedagogical readings provided an effective platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience, and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions in the media field.
