On March 26-27, 2026, a republican scientific and practical seminar on the issues of preservation, conservation and restoration of the written heritage of Kazakhstan will be held in Almaty.
Leading specialists in the field of restoration, libraries and archives, as well as representatives of educational organizations, are participating in the event. The purpose of the seminar is to discuss modern methods of preserving rare manuscripts and printed publications, exchange scientific and practical experience, as well as develop solutions to the issues of training qualified personnel.
During the plenary session, the Director General of the RSE "Gylym Ordasy" Ular Mukazhanov made a congratulatory speech. The participants were also congratulated by Gulzada Abdullayeva, Director of the College of Printmedia Technologies, Ulbosyn Aiymbetova, Library Manager of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Zhadyra Arekenova, Director of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Library, and Krym Altynbekov, Head of the "Ostrov Krym" Restoration Laboratory (video greeting).
The cooperation between the College of Printmedia Technologies, "Gylym Ordasy" and the Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan is showing positive results. Within the framework of the partnership, internships for students and masters of industrial training were organized, and a module on book restoration and repair was introduced into the curriculum. This allowed students to develop professional and entrepreneurial skills. As a result of this work, the "MURA" project was implemented, which received high marks at the city and republican levels.
