THE CODE OF HONOR FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF

1. General provisions.

1.1. This Code defines the basic rules of corporate culture and behavior of teachers and staff at the Almaty College of Graphic Arts in Almaty (hereinafter referred to as the College).

1.2. The Code of Honor for teachers and staff of the College is aimed at creating a favorable moral and psychological climate in the college.

1.3. The main purpose of the implementation of all the norms of this Code is to strengthen the corporate culture of the professional community, increase the authority of teachers and staff of the College.

1.4. Each teacher and staff member of the College, strictly observing the norms of this code, contributes to strengthening its image and business reputation of the college.

 

2. Corporate principles and values.

2.1 The College's activities are based on the following principles:

2.1.1. The College is a leading center of high–quality knowledge, culture, science and innovation, using the latest learning technologies in the educational process.

2.1.2. The college, looking to the future, effectively implements the educational concept of the college.

2.1.3. The College values and respects its staff and always acts in accordance with the highest ethical standards.

2.1.4. The College is intolerant of any manifestations of corruption and bribery.

2.1.5. The spirit of the College is in unity. Creativity, involvement and partnership of teachers, staff and students are integral features of corporate ethics.

 

2.2 Main corporate values.

2.2.1. Competitiveness of the educational services provided.

2.2.2. Integration into the global educational space.

2.2.3. Openness to change and innovation.

2.2.4. Constant focus on scientific research and development.

2.2.5. High academic responsibility.

2.2.6. Striving for improvement and creative growth.

2.2.7. Morality, patriotism, citizenship.

2.2.8. Respect for the personality of the employee and the student, protection of their rights and interests.

2.2.9. Dedication to the college and willingness to meet its high standards.

 

Corporate ethics of the college staff
3.1. Teachers and staff of the College are obliged to:

3.1.1. To maintain the status of an educational institution with honor and dignity, justifying the high rank of a teacher and an employee of the College.

3.1.2. To carry out the mission of the college and to correlate its mission with the corporate one in professional activity.

3.1.3. Take full responsibility for the implementation of the goals and objectives stated by the college, and be involved in the results of the college's activities.

3.1.4. While performing their official duties, they should show high culture, responsibility, integrity, academic honesty and objectivity, and be guided by the principles of mutual respect, correctness, and friendly relations with colleagues and students.

3.1.5. Strive for professionalism, constantly improving the level of their knowledge, studying foreign and domestic experience and achievements of science.

3.1.6. Serve as an example of work discipline for students, respectful and careful attitude towards their college, its traditions and history.

3.1.7. Cherish the business reputation of the college, refrain from participating in activities contrary to or detrimental to the interests of the college, and stop any attempts to discredit the honor and authority.

 

3.2. Teachers and staff should not:

3.2.1. Humiliate colleagues and students, use obscene words, show arrogance and familiarity.

3.2.2. Discuss the personal lives of colleagues and their shortcomings in front of students.

3.2.3. Appear drunk and consume alcoholic beverages at the college, smoke in an uninvited place.

3.2.4. Accept gifts or monetary rewards from students.

3.2.5. To disseminate religious ideas, as well as opinions and attitudes that contradict interethnic unity and interfaith harmony. Wearing hijabs, beards, and short trousers is prohibited in college and other public places.

3.2.6. Be late for work, shorten the time of classes or perform their official duties, or skip them without a valid reason.

3.2.7. To be rude and inattentive in the performance of their official duties.

3.2.8. Abuse their official powers in relation to students, allow a biased attitude towards students and in assessing their knowledge.

3.2.9. Disseminate false information about the decisions of the college administration and the activities of their departments.

 

3.3. The relationship between the supervisor and subordinates.

3.3.1. The Manager must:

- serve as an example for subordinates with their professional and universal behavior.;

- base the norms and principles of their behavior on the basic rules of corporate ethics of business communication;

-show respect for the personality of subordinates, not infringe on their dignity;

- create a friendly and businesslike atmosphere in the team.

3.3.2. The subordinate must:

- strictly observe labor discipline;

- inform the supervisor directly about the reasons for the absence in a timely manner;

- know the college leaders by sight, their first name and patronymic;

- when meeting in the corridor or in an open area, greet the supervisor first.;

- when entering the room, greet those present first.

3.3.3. Relations with colleagues:

- treat each other with respect;

- be sure to apologize for inappropriate behavior (act);

- refrain from criticizing colleagues, subordinates, and supervisors in the presence of other employees;

- to treat rumors negatively, to prevent their spread;

- during working hours, only deal with matters related to the performance of direct official duties;

- do not swear, do not show incontinence and aggression;

-help colleagues in their work, share knowledge and experience.

3.3.4. Attitude towards work as the main professional responsibility:

- serve as an example for students;

- be competent, constantly maintaining a high level of scientific and pedagogical qualifications;

-honestly and objectively evaluate the knowledge, skills and abilities of students;

- to give their strength, knowledge and experience to the cause of increasing the scientific achievements of the college.

- do not resort to plagiarism, appropriation of ideas from unpublished sources.

3.3.5. Holding meetings and conferences:

-come to meetings and meetings on time;

- get acquainted with the agenda in advance and have all the necessary materials with you;

-turn off cell phones before starting a meeting or meeting;

- do not use the podium of the meeting to solve personal problems.

 

4. Responsibility for violations of the Code of Honor

4.1. The Code of Honor is equally a matter for all teachers and staff.

4.2. Teachers and staff of the college are required to know and comply with the Code of Honor, to be strictly responsible for their activities and behavior.

4.3. Violation of the provisions of the Code is considered as an action incompatible with the status of a teacher and an employee of the college.

4.4. For violations of the norms of the College's Code of Honor, the following measures may be applied to staff, teachers and students::

- recommendations for making a public apology;

- discussions of behavior at the Management Board;

- disciplinary action.
